Information collection and use
Your shortcuts and the text you type are stored in the local storage of your browser. They are not sent to our servers, except for shortcuts your team shares with you, as described under Teams below.
When you install the extension, it creates a random installation ID. This ID does not contain your name or email address. Together with it, we store:
- Your browser type and preferred language, and the extension version.
- Daily counts of how many shortcuts and symbols you expanded. We count expansions only and never see the expanded text.
- Product events, such as viewing the upgrade screen, clicking the checkout button or starting a trial, together with the time they happened.
- Your rating of the extension, if you give one.
We use this data to keep the extension working, to understand which features are used and to improve the product. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
We collect your email address if you choose to provide it. We do not collect your email address automatically.
- To send occasional promotional emails about our products and services, including updates, new features, and special offers.
- To send emails about your account, trial or subscription.
- To respond to your questions or requests for support.
We will not sell, rent, or share your email address with any third parties without your explicit consent, except with the service providers listed below that help us run the Service.
Your email address is stored securely on our servers. We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
You can opt out of receiving promotional emails from us at any time by replying to the received email.
We will retain your email address for as long as you are a user of our extension and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal requirements or for legitimate business purposes.
Payments
Payments for paid plans are processed either by our reseller Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record for those orders, or by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details. We store the customer or subscription ID from Paddle or Stripe and the status of your subscription, so we can unlock paid features. Paddle and Stripe process your payment data under their own privacy policies (Paddle, Stripe).
To show prices in your local currency, we look up your country from your IP address. We do not store your IP address for this.
Teams
If your organization uses our team features, we store the team managers' email addresses and login details, the email addresses of invited team members, and the shortcuts and categories the team shares. Team managers can see usage counts of their team members. The organization that manages the team decides which data is added and is responsible for it.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run the Service: our hosting provider, Paddle and Stripe for payments, and Zoho ZeptoMail for sending emails. They process data only on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the data we hold about you by contacting us at the address below. Uninstalling the extension removes all data stored in your browser.
Cookies
Our browser extension does not use cookies. Data entered in the extension is kept in your browser's local storage, as described above.
On our website, we use Google Ads (gtag.js) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to reach people who have visited our pages. This may set advertising cookies and share identifiers with Google. These cookies are optional and are only set after you give your consent through the cookie banner shown on the relevant pages. Until you consent, no advertising cookies are stored, and you can decline at any time.

To count visits to our website, we use a self-hosted instance of GoatCounter, which does not use cookies or store IP addresses.
Security
Your data is stored securely on our servers. We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. The security of your data is important to us, but please remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
